Happy Birthday Big Red!

Four?  Seriously? How is this kid four already?  We had his birthday party last weekend and I must say, it was a hit! Unfortunately, we didn't get to invite every single child that he's every met to the party like he wanted us to, but I still think he had fun. Since I'm ginormous with baby #3, we decided to keep things easy.  Bikes, trikes, scooters, and of course power wheels in the cul de sac, with pizza and cake and ice cream.  All I can say is that it's a miracle that no one got hurt...

 Kylee and Aaron

Carden and Ty

Ty and David-these two were hilarious.  David wanted to ride by himself and Ty insisted on riding with him. So David would hurry and jump out and get on the other jeep and Ty would immediately follow him. This went on forever and there were a couple of times that poor Ty was hanging onto the door with David driving away.  Again, I don't know how there were no injuries.

A "wrecking ball" piñata.  Um, this was us being cheap and lazy again.  But it was filled with candy, so the kids didn't care what it looked like!

A dump truck cake.  Carden loves all colors right now so I made it colorful for him.  Not quite what he wanted, since he wanted a cementmixerdumptruckexcavator.  One word, one truck in his mind.  Not quite sure how to make that one...

Happy birthday!

Opening birthday presents, with just a little help from friends :)

A few birthday party games

A couple things about this kid:

He love all of his little preschool and primary friends.

His best friend is still his brother David.

He is one of the most generous kids I've seen.  He loves to share his snacks and even his toys with other kids.

He needs to know what is going to happen every single day.  "what are we doing after breakfast?  After naps?" He gets very disappointed if we don't have something planned each day.

He asked for a his very own "trokenmote rc car" (remote control).  Love the occasional word errors.  Especially that he still says HEY S U! (ASU)

He loves to learn and is learning more each day. He's really get the hang of letter/sound association. He sits and colors in his "preschool" book almost every day.

He is still a daddy's boy through and through.

He's excited for a new baby, but is still hoping that Heavenly Father will give us a baby sister. Sorry son, pretty sure it's not going to happen.

He still loves being mama's helper.  Mopping, dishes, cleaning the bathroom and vacuuming are some of his favorites.  He also likes to let Maggie in and out and bring in my newspaper.  We are now working on how I have two helpers in my house and Carden needs to let David take a turn once in a while...

He's set on the name "Acho Charlie" for the baby.  Although it sounds like "Nufindamuffin"is now a close second...Again son, pretty sure that's not going to happen.

He talks about how excited he is to be an "adult" or "grown-up" so that he can do whatever he wants.  It makes me sad how young he is to already be feeling this way...

He's hesitant to try any new foods. Even if it's cookies, cake, or other snacks.  If you tell him that it's brand new, he won't even put it in his mouth. But foods that he's familiar with, he'll eat with no problem, even if it's broccoli and red peppers.  So funny how things have changed for him.

His current favorite TV shows are "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" and "Octonauts."  This tends to change from month to month though.  At least we no longer have to watch Thomas or Caillou right now...

He's an Arizona kid.  He has been outside nearly everyday, playing in the cul de sac while daddy works in the garage.  And now that the weather has cooled down he claims he's "freezing" and doesn't want to be outside.  Crazy kid.

Potty jokes and humor.  It starts so young.  I'm still kind of shocked over this one...

I know there's so much more, this kid is hilarious.  We love you Carden!
